What Workshops Do You Offer for Teachers?

Our NLP for Teachers courses are designed to train teachers to harness their emotional intelligence to communicate better, reduce disruption and get the best out of all their students. Research shows that the best teachers always retain their students’ attention and find ways to create a positive learning environment. We train teachers to control their own emotions through state management. We also work with Milton model hypnotic language patterns which are effective in the classroom as they help teachers gain compliance without an argument. Time on task is another critical success factor. Highly effective teachers spend more time teaching and less time managing their class. But there’s not a lot of advice out there about how to go about achieving that. ‘NLP for Teachers’ helps teachers acquire the personal skills to bridge that gap. “The idea is to generate time on task”. NLP offers strategies that help them subtly gain the compliance of the whole group in a way that doesn’t slow down learning. We work with teachers on basic NLP skills such as creating rapport with individuals and groups. Increasing your sensory acuity through NLP helps you pre-empt potentially difficult situations so that you can really be master in your own classroom.”
We have trained the teachers through NLP:-
To use spatial anchoring for different areas in the classroom –this can help condition group responses from the children you teach.
Use the patterns for dealing with bullying.
Develop your rapport skills– when to have it and when not to.
Managing difficult pupils and parents.
Use influential language in the classroom.
Visualise outcomes – how you want the children to be in your classroom, not just what they’re going to learn.
Learn Milton model language to embed commands.
Learn hypnosis for relaxation. You can also embed learning and understanding with metaphors and stories and to create and embed states. This is great for assemblies.

How is NLP Useful in Schools?

It is the fact the education is no longer delivered in the rigid formula used many decades ago but is seen as an interactive experience with both the teacher and the student taking an active role. Additionally, of course, there are many different styles of learning so teachers need to be flexible in order to meet the needs of each individual member of the class. The student-centric approach is one of the reasons why NLP fits in so well to modern methods of learning and why so many teachers are using it to great effect in their classrooms. We take a closer look at NLP, including what it is and how it can be used in learning and education.

• As any teacher knows, different children learn differently. NLP makes special distinctions between visual, auditory and kinaesthetic learning. People of all ages tend to use one sense as a dominant source of information (and to rather ignore the others). To get a message across to any group of people requires a range of methods: VAK i.e Visual, Auditory and Kinaesthetic (visuals/pictures/images, sounds and actually doing things). The catch for the teacher or any educator (as well as for any communicator) is that they too have a preferred sensory channel. The beginning of wisdom in the presentation is the knowledge of one’s own biases, so you can build other material into your communication.
• The ideal presentation method is to combine all three types of teaching, i.e. using visual aids (or a whiteboard), talking and setting frequent, often creative, brief exercises for those who learn by doing. There is also an argument that kinaesthetic learners also like to have an emotional response, so if you are a maths teacher, for instance, and hands-on opportunities are limited you could use examples. Stories (Metaphors in NLP) can be more powerful than facts and theory.
• The principle of ‘state’ is a combination of emotional, mental and physical ongoing experience and is assumed by many people to be a ‘given’ and ‘negative’. “I’m in a bad mood”, they say, and assume that nothing can be done about it – after all, they’ll cheer up later. NLP teaches that states are any state of mind, either positive or negative, and can be controlled and that you can consciously create positive, resourceful states in oneself and in other people.
• Having NLP skills provides teachers with the ability to change the delivery depending on the reaction of students, to help them reach their goals in the most effective way.
• NLP isn’t just useful for difficult students or problems which arise, it can be used effectively to help develop rapport and also adapt lessons to help individuals get the most out of them.
• By utilizing NLP techniques, it’s entirely possible to design strategies for different tasks and skills and be able to respond to the needs of students on an individual basis.
• As every teacher is aware that half of the battle can be creating enthusiasm and interest in a subject; NLP helps to overcome these problems by simple techniques such as the use of the tonality, tonal variations, voice, and learning how to create the right pacing within each lesson.
• It can also be used to overcome a wide range of learning problems including students who are struggling with confidence, those who are unable to express their difficulties and also individuals who can’t communicate exactly what their thought processes are
• Suitable for teachers from preschool teachers right up to those delivering adult education, NLP is a set of tools which enables individuals to not only achieve their potential but also to enjoy the experience, and develop patterns of thinking and behavior which will be useful not just inside, but also outside of the classroom too.

What are some of the key applications of NLP

Here are articles exploring the use of NLP in different life areas:

What is NLP Modeling?
NLP modeling is the art of making explicit the set of differences present in someone who is excellent at a given activity compared with someone who is mediocre at the same activity. NLP modeling is by far the highest skill level in NLP. NLP modeling can be used to capture patterns of excellence present in anyone in any context.

How does NLP work?

Have you ever done something so elegantly and effectively that it took your breath away? Have you had times where you were delighted at what you did and wondered how you did it?
NLP shows you how to understand and model your own successes so that you can reproduce them. It is a way of discovering and unfolding your personal genius, a way of bringing out the best in yourself and others.
As per us, NLP is the study of excellence. It is the study of both the conscious and unconscious processes that combine to enable people to do what they do. The key to success is often unknown at a conscious level. Using NLP you can elicit these unknown pieces.
You may want to improve your relationships, or eliminate an anxiety, or become more competitive in the marketplace. The key pieces are not found in the muscles, but in your inner thoughts, like words or pictures, or feelings or even beliefs. Once you know these unknown pieces you can change them. NLP exercises are like thought experiments, mental exercises or a game. The laboratory is your mind.

How did NLP develop?
Neuro Linguistic Programming began it’s life early in the 1970s when an Associate Professor at the University of California, Santa Cruz, John Grinder, teamed up with an undergraduate Richard Bandler. Both men had a fascination with human excellence which charted a path for them to model behavioral patterns of selected geniuses.
Modeling is the core activity in NLP, and is the process of extricating and replicating the language structure and behavioral patterns of an individual who is excellent at a given activity.
Grinder and Bandler began their NLP quest by modeling three people, Fritz Perls, Virginia Satir and Milton Erickson. These geniuses were outstanding as professional agents of change, working in the domain of therapy. All three geniuses, Perls, Satir, and Erickson performed their magic from a perspective of unconscious excellence. The geniuses did not present Grinder and Bandler with a conscious description of their behavior. The modelers (Grinder and Bandler) unconsciously absorbed the patterning inherent in the geniuses and then provided a description.
With little direct knowledge of each of the geniuses specialty and little knowledge of the field of psychotherapy, on the whole, Grinder and Bandler over a two year period set out with enthusiasm bordering on fervor, to explicate selected portions of the geniuses’ behavior. They coded the results of their work in language-based models using the patterns of transformational grammar as the descriptive vocabulary. Through NLP Modelling Grinder and Bandler made explicit the tacit skills of the geniuses and NLP was born.
The company that Grinder and Bandler were keeping in these heady days of the 1970s was a melting pot of enquiring minds seeking an investigation into human behavior. John Grinder was an associate professor at the University of California, Santa Cruz and Richard Bandler a fourth-year undergraduate student. The world-renowned anthropologist Gregory Bateson had joined the faculty at Kresge College, and such was Bateson’s interest in Grinder and Bandler’s collaboration he introduced Grinder and Bandler to Milton Erickson. Bateson provided support, feedback and his enthusiasm are in part captured in his introduction to the book Structure of Magic where he states “John Grinder and Richard Bandler have done something similar to what my colleagues and I attempted fifteen years ago.”
In 1975 Grinder and Bandler presented the first two NLP models to the world in the volumes “Structure of Magic I and II.” The volumes published by the respected publishing house “Science and Behaviour Books inc” put NLP on the map and interest in the new field of NLP spread quickly. People in fields related to communication, behavior and change sought to learn how they too could get amazing results when doing change work. Grinder and Bandler willingly offered training courses in the application of their models. The training courses Bandler and Grinder conducted – proved that the NLP models were transferable to others, meaning the learners could use the NLP models successfully in their own work.

Does NLP create long-lasting results?
With every technique, some people experience permanent change and others experienced most short-term results. When it comes to creating long-lasting change, there are several factors to take into account: getting to the root cause of a problem and remove that.

Can I use NLP on myself?
Not only can you use NLP on yourself, but you should absolutely use NLP on yourself! Especially if you are working with others, any result you help others achieve using NLP techniques, you should be able to do that for yourself.

Can you tell if someone is lying with NLP?
NLP does teach sensory acuity and how to observe a person’s physiology; however, since everyone’s physiology is unique to them until you have practice, you won’t be able to.

How can you determine if coaching is right for you?

To determine whether you or your company could benefit from coaching, start by summarizing what you would expect to accomplish in coaching (well formed outcome). When an individual or business has a fairly clear idea of the desired outcome, a coaching partnership can be a valuable tool for developing a strategy for how to achieve that outcome with greater ease.
Since coaching is a partnership, ask yourself whether collaboration, other viewpoints, and new perspectives are valued. Also, ask yourself whether you or your business is ready to devote the time and the energy to making real changes. If the answer is yes, then coaching may be a beneficial way to grow and develop.

What has caused the tremendous growth in the coaching industry?

Coaching has grown significantly for many reasons, most of them are as follows:
• Rapid changes are taking place in the external business environment.
• Downsizing, restructuring, mergers and other organizational changes have radically altered the “traditional employment contract.” Companies can no longer achieve results using traditional management approaches.
• With the growing shortage of talented employees in certain industries, companies must commit to investing in individuals’ development.
• The disparity between what managers were trained to do and what their jobs now require of them is widening due to increasing demands for competitive results.
• People are wrestling with job insecurity and increased workplace pressures to perform at higher levels than ever before.
• Companies must develop inclusive, collaborative work environments to achieve strategic business goals and to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Individuals who have experienced the excellent results of coaching are talking to more people about it.
• People today are more open to the idea of being in charge of their own lives. Coaching helps them do just that.
In short, coaching helps individuals and companies focus on what matters most in life and business, and so the industry continues to grow.

How is coaching delivered? What does the process look like?

Coaching typically begins with a personal interview (either face-to-face or by teleconference call/ zoom call/ skype chat) to assess the individual’s or business’ current opportunities and challenges, define the scope of the relationship, identify priorities for action and establish specific desired outcomes. Subsequent coaching sessions may be conducted in person or over the telephone, with each session lasting a previously established length of time. Between scheduled coaching sessions, the individual may be asked to complete specific actions that support the achievement of one’s personally prioritized goals. The coach may provide additional resources in the form of relevant articles, checklists, assessments or models to support the individual’s or business’ thinking and actions. The duration of the coaching relationship varies depending on needs and preferences.
• Assessments: A variety of assessments are available to support the coaching process, depending upon the needs and circumstances of the individual or business. Assessments provide objective information that can enhance self-awareness, as well as awareness of others and their circumstances; provide a benchmark for creating coaching goals and actionable strategies; and offer a method for evaluating progress.
• Concepts, models and principles: A variety of concepts, models and principles drawn from the behavioral sciences, management literature, spiritual traditions and/or the arts and humanities may be incorporated into the coaching conversation to increase self-awareness and awareness of others, foster shifts in perspective, promote fresh insights, provide new frameworks for looking at opportunities and challenges, and energize and inspire forward actions.
• Appreciative approach: Coaching incorporates an appreciative approach, grounded in what’s right, what’s working, what’s wanted and what’s needed to get there. Using an appreciative approach, the coach models constructive communication skills and methods to enhance personal communication effectiveness. He or she incorporates discovery-based inquiry, proactive (as opposed to reactive) ways of managing personal opportunities and challenges, constructive framing of observations and feedback to elicit the most positive responses from others, and visions of success as contrasted with focusing on problems. The appreciative approach is simple to understand and employ, and its reach can be profound, opening up new possibilities and spurring action.

How long does a coach work with an individual?

The length of a coaching partnership varies depending on the individual’s or team’s needs and preferences. For certain types of focused coaching, three to six months of working may work. For other types of coaching, people may find it beneficial to work with a coach for a longer period. Factors that may impact the length of time include the types of goals, the ways individuals or teams prefer to work, the frequency of coaching meetings and financial resources available to support coaching.

What does coaching ask of an individual?

To be successful, coaching asks certain things, all of which begin with an intention. Additionally, clients should:
• Focus on one’s self, the tough questions, the hard truths and one’s success.
• Observe the behaviors and communications of others.
• Listen to one’s intuition, assumptions, judgments, and to the way one sounds when one speaks.
• Challenge existing attitudes, beliefs and behaviors and develop new ones that serve one’s goals in a superior way.
• Leverage personal strengths and overcome limitations to develop a winning style.
• Take decisive actions, however uncomfortable and in spite of personal insecurities, to reach for the extraordinary.
• Show compassion for one’s self while learning new behaviors and experiencing setbacks, and to show that compassion for others as they do the same.
• Commit to not take one’s self so seriously, using humor to lighten and brighten any situation.
• Maintain composure in the face of disappointment and unmet expectations, avoiding emotional reactivity.
• Have the courage to reach for more than before while engaging in the continual self-examination without fear.
•How can the success of the coaching process be measured?
A measurement may be thought of in two distinct ways: external indicators of performance and internal indicators of success. Ideally, both are incorporated.
Examples of external measures include achievement of coaching goals established at the outset of the coaching relationship, increased income/revenue, obtaining a promotion, performance feedback that is obtained from a sample of the individual’s constituents (e.g., direct reports, colleagues, customers, boss, the manager him/herself), personal and/or business performance data (e.g., productivity, efficiency measures). The external measures selected should be things the individual is already measuring and has some ability to directly influence.
Examples of internal measures include self-scoring/self-validating assessments that can be administered initially and at regular intervals in the coaching process, changes in the individual’s self-awareness and awareness of others, shifts in thinking that create more effective actions, and shifts in one’s emotional state that inspire confidence.

So is coaching like mentoring or training?

No, training tells individuals what to do in certain circumstances. Mentoring often has some elements of coaching but differs in that the mentor also offers guidance based on their experience. If you get told what to do or how to solve a problem then it is not coaching.
How do I select a Life Coach?
The following are some points to bear in mind when selecting a coach:
1) A coach need not be an expert in a particular field.
2) Accreditations and Credentials speak many words.
3) Try out a few coaches before you decide who you’d enjoy working with. Coaching is about helping you achieve your potential and exploring what works best for you is part of that process. When you find someone that works well for you, stick with them.
4) If you don’t know where to start looking, ITA, ABNLP, ICF (the International Coach Federation) are the global bodies that offer accreditation based on a combination of training and practical coaching experience.

What is Coaching?

Coaching is partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential, which is particularly important in today’s uncertain and complex environment.
The responsibility of the coach is to:
– Discover, clarify, and align with what the client wants to achieve
– Encourage client self-discovery
– Elicit client-generated solutions and strategies
– Hold the client responsible and accountable
This process helps clients dramatically improve their outlook on work and life, while improving their leadership skills and unlocking their potential.
What are the different forms of Coaching?
There are two forms of coaching, viz. One-on-one and Group Coaching. As the names suggest, the difference lies in the number of people receiving coaching in the session.
Group coaching is effective when all clients have similar goals to be achieved, in the broader perspective. One-on-one coaching is more concentrated on all the goals of the single client.
One-on-one coaching is highly impactful since it directly addresses the needs of a single client.
However, the impact of a group session cannot be discounted. In fact, the best, deepest and most far-reaching results are achieved when the group coaching session is followed by one-on-one sessions, rather than mere group sessions.

What are the areas Coaching available?

It is important to note that since one-on-one coaching is also about offering support to the client to achieve his or her goals, it is possible that the client wants to achieve success in more than one of the above specializations. For example, one of the goals could be assertiveness, while the second one could be the career transition, and the third one could be weight-loss. Each of the goals is worked on, one after the other, depending on the priority set by the client after discussion with the coach.
Through which medium does coaching take place?
Coaching can take place face to face, or over the telephone, or via Skype/Zoom Call, depending on the client’s convenience.
How can I sign up for coaching?
You can sign up for coaching by calling us at +91-9936245594 or email us at

What is the duration of coaching, per session as well as the entire contract?
The coaching contract would be made for 6 months, which includes two-three sessions per month, either face-to-face, over the telephone or on Skype, for 60-75 minutes. Additional support would be available on Whatsapp, Email, and Telephone, depending on the coaching package that you select.
What if I do not wish to continue with the coaching contract?
We strongly recommend that the coaching is completed and not stopped midway so that you satisfactorily achieve your goals and live your dreams in a sustained manner. However, in such a circumstance where you do not wish to continue with coaching, the remaining coaching fee (after deducting the amount for the sessions already completed) will be refunded.

What are “The Bars”?

The Bars are a series of 32 points on the head, which when lightly touched release energy stuck in the brain and the body, allowing for tremendous and easy change.
The Access Bars are 32 bars of energy that run through and around your head that connect to different aspects of your life. We call all of the points you touch when using this modality “The Bars.”
The Bars store the electromagnetic component of all the thoughts, ideas, attitudes, decisions and beliefs that you have ever had about anything. For example; every thought you have ever had about money that you considered important, the energy of that thought is stored in the Bar called “money.” There are Bars for healing, body, control, awareness, creativity, power, aging, sex and money; 32 different ones in all. Each Bar corresponds with that aspect or area of your life that it is named. Touch one Bar and you begin to clear away the energy locked up in that area or aspect of your life just by touching it.

What does a Bars session do?

“Running” the Bars takes all the considerations, thoughts, feelings, emotions, decisions, judgments, and beliefs from any lifetime that are electrically stored in the brain and releases them. This release occurs when the Bars are touched, which allows the stored electromagnetic charge to be released.
Similar to when the lights go out in your house and you flip the circuit breaker to turn the lights back on, having your Bars run allows your lights to come on. The energy of the universe becomes available to you and this often results in more peace, ease, joy and glory in life.
Several doctors who are experts in biofeedback have reported changes in brain waves going from beta to much more relaxed theta waves in the course of a one-hour session. Luckily for us, Access has known for years that running the Bars changes the electrical function of the brain.

What can you expect after receiving the Bars?

Every Bars session is different. The worst that can happen after a Bars session is you feel as relaxed as if you had received a great massage. The best that can happen is your whole life can change.
Among the most commonly reported effects are an increased sense of peace and ease, being less reactive to situations which might have upset you in the past, more restful and deep sleep and feeling that whatever was upsetting before the session doesn’t matter any more.

How long does the effect of a Bars session last?

Once you have your Bars run, the Bars continue to release stuck energy forever. Each time you have your Bars run after that, the effect becomes more exponential and dynamic. The most dramatic effects tend to be noticed within 3-4 weeks of the session.

How often should you have your Bars run?

This is entirely up to you. How good would you like to feel? How easy would you like your life to be?
Some Bars Practitioners wonder why we don’t all do it every day! Most like to have their Bars run at least once a week, or whenever they feel stressed, cranky, or frustrated with something. After any kind of major shock, trauma or energetic shift of any kind is another time to consider having your Bars run.

Who can benefit from having their Bars run?

Everyone who is willing to lie still for it! Some people may not value the experience of relaxation and consider it a waste of time, and other people who have an interest in changing and improving their lives may be keener. We recommend concentrating your “bars running” efforts on the latter group.
Below you will find just a few of the common benefits:
• People or situations that once drove you nuts and created great difficulty in your life suddenly no longer bothers you, and is not a problem anymore.
• Begin to receive everything easily.

Can running Bars heal physical ailments and pain? What diseases or ailments can be cured?

The Bars facilitate consciousness, which can potentially change any of these.
Some of the physical ailments that have changed in one Bars session include scoliosis resulting in a 1 1/2” height gain and running the Bars can heal tail bone pain, depression, fatigue, back pains, knee pain, migraines, neck pains, epilepsy, changing pigeon-toes where surgery was recommended, as well as relief and disappearance of all kinds of aches and pains all over the body.

Many people have used the Bars in combination with other tools of Access Consciousness to make “incurable” diseases, including cancer, arthritis, chronic fatigue, depression, and bi-polar disorder, disappear.

How do you know how many Bars sessions it will take to heal something?

You don’t! The symptoms or disease will go away when you and your body are ready to release the considerations (thoughts, feelings, emotions, beliefs, decisions, and judgments from any lifetime) that are keeping the undesirable condition in place.

This process is not linear, which means that a condition one person let go of in one session could take many sessions for another person and there is no wrongness in this. It is just different. It is, however, possible to ask a particular Bars session to address particular symptoms or issues. Results are determined by the person receiving the Bars session, and their body.

When should you have your Bars run?

Whenever you would like to feel great! Many people get them run regularly, once a week, with an extra session when they are having a difficult day.

Are the Bars like Reiki or Craniosacral therapy? Are they Acupuncture points?

The Bars did not exist on earth before Gary Douglas channelled them. While the points may appear to be craniosacral or acupuncture points, they have a different function when run as part of the Bars. We have not seen any other method generate the changes that are created by the Bars.
Reiki practitioners tend to do very well at learning the Bars since they are already familiar with energy. Running Bars for others seems to have a more wide-ranging effect on the whole lives of the people running the Bars than Reiki practitioners seem to experience. We have a team of Bar Practitioners who were practicing Reiki and Pranic Healing and after learning Bars they are creating magic in terms of healing, creating abundance, wealth and great relationships for themselves as well as for others.

Will I Feel Different After Class?

Most people walk out of an Access class knowing that they are forever changed. A doorway to a new level of choice and possibilities has been opened and they are eager to create a life that works for them with this newfound sense of freedom. The level of change and difference however is up to you. How much are you willing to change? How much are you willing to choose? How much are you willing to receive?
As for the clearing statement, you will get results from the very first time you use it to change something in your life. The more you repeat the clearing statement or repeat a process, the more quickly, deeply and dynamically the change will be in regard to what you are using the clearing statement for.
Most people have been creating the limitation or problem in their life for a very long time, maybe lots of lifetimes, so it may take using the clearing statement on a particular subject for days, weeks, months or years to get all the change you are looking for.
How fast things change is really up to you. Are you willing to have your life change quickly and easily?
If you could get over a problem you have had for 10 years, in just 10 weeks, would it be worth it?
Change is not always comfortable, and neither is consciousness. What if uncomfort wasn’t wrong? What if the consciousness is the great adventure you’re been looking for?

How do I get a  Private Bars Session?

You can book the private session@9918912221

What Does a Bars Session Feel Like?

Everyone is different so there is no “normal” Bars session. What is most often reported is that there is sense of complete relaxation and many people go to sleep – even in a very noisy environment. Some people have images come to them, others feel sensations in their body such as buzzing, tingling, warmth, twitches or shivers. Many people say the energy they feel is similar to the pleasure they get from being turned on. Emotionally, people have been known to cry or laugh out loud for no apparent reason and experience a sense of peace and joy is often present at the end of a Bars session.
Every session will be different, every time, even if you repeat with the same person running your Bars.
Remember you can always stop at any time, go longer in a session, take a break (including bathroom break), get a snack, ask questions, fall asleep or watch a movie. There is no special enviroment needed to have your Bars run. It is all totally up to you. The only two things we do recommend is that you never listen to music during a Bars session and, if you are at a Gifting and Receiving trade gathering, be aware of other people around you.

What is hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy attempts to address an individual’s subconscious mind, using the power of suggestion for beneficial change. A hypnotherapist uses hypnosis to give relevant, positive beneficial suggestions to help an individual bring about the change they desire. Although hypnotherapy is not the same as sleep (the individual will still have awareness and control), hypnotherapists often require the individual to be in a deeply relaxed state to enable them to use their imagination fully. For this reason, it’s imperative that the individual feels completely comfortable with their hypnotherapist. Hypnosis is a different state of consciousness from being awake or asleep, and many people compare the deep, relaxed state of hypnosis to daydreaming.
Altered states of awareness have been recognised for thousands of years and hypnosis is widely accepted as a beneficial psychological therapy to access our inner potential. Techniques can be used to reveal issues from an individuals past that may be causing them distress, or the approach can be focused more on their present problems. Hypnotherapy can generally help with most emotional problems an individual is finding hard to cope with, and some physical problems can also be effectively treated with hypnosis too, such as IBS and insomnia. However, it’s important for an individual to consult their GP before approaching a hypnotherapist if they suffer from clinical depression, epilepsy or schizophrenia.
Hypnotherapists will often combine hypnosis with other psychotherapy and counselling techniques to benefit individuals. The techniques used will depend on the issue the individual is seeking help for.

What are the types of Hypnotherapy

As a client you do not need to understand the different types of hypnotherapy as your therapist will aim to ensure that they use the best methods to suit you as an individual and your particular issues.
As every person is different the best results will be obtained by utilizing the methods that each person will respond to.
Your therapist may have studied and/or trained using a specific type of hypnotherapy or they may have studied a number of different models (or modalities). For example:
• In “Traditional Hypnosis” the therapist gives direct suggestions to the subconscious mind. This type of hypnosis works well with those who accept what they are told.
• In “Ericksonian Hypnosis,” the therapist will use metaphors to give suggestions and ideas to your subconscious mind. This can be very effective because it helps to eliminate the resistance to change that may come from the conscious mind.
When you first meet with your therapist and discuss the issues you want to work on they will work out a programme of treatment with you and explain what will happen next. (If you want to find out more information about the different models of hypnotherapy then do ask your therapist).
Most hypnosis cassettes and DVDs use “Traditional Hypnosis” techniques. This is the reason why this method has only a partial success rate as it is not very effective for people who are critical or analytical in their thinking processes.

Does hypnotherapy really work?

Hypnosis and hypnotherapy have many research studies done showing how effective the method can be for many types of problems and conditions. If it was not successful at all, there would be publications saying so. If you do a general search on any of the medical search sites, such as PubMed, (National Library of Medicine and National Institutes of Health), Medscape, WebMD, etc. you will see professional medical journals full of entries on the successful use of hypnosis and hypnotherapy. For example, for IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome), hypnotherapy has proven to have one of the highest success rates over other treatment methods, with most studies being done after all other methods have failed with very severe refractory cases.
Professional organizations have consistently reported on the value of hypnotherapy. The British Medical Association has been formally studying and verifying it since 1892. In the 1950s, both the British Medical Association and the American Medical Association confirmed the efficacy of hypnotherapy as official policy. They claimed: “For the past hundred years there has been an abundance of evidence that psychological and physiological changes could be produced by hypnotism which were worth study on their own account, and also that such changes might be of great service in the treatment of patients.”
In 2001, the British Psychological Society reported that: “Enough studies have now accumulated to suggest that the inclusion of hypnotic procedures may be beneficial in the management and treatment of a wide range of conditions and problems encountered in the practice of medicine, psychiatry and psychotherapy.”
In addition, the members of our own graduate community report incredible benefits for their clients and themselves

How does hypnosis work?

Acts at Subconscious Level: Every human being has latent talent to reprogram emotions, attitudes and reactions. Hypnotic suggestions focus on the subconscious part of the mind that accepts them as a new reality as long as the suggestions are framed within the person’s belief system, ethical and moral standards.
Access Subconscious through Conscious Mind: During the hypnotic trance the conscious mind leaves a doorway to the subconscious, which allows it to consider and accept new neurological connections, patterns of behavior and thoughts.
Uses Educative/Therapeutic Processes: In a therapeutic hypnotic trance, it is easier to work on issues that are not controlled by the conscious mind. For example, you cannot possibly tell your body to stop the pain. However, with the hypnotic trance and some specific and proven suggestions, you can.
Hypnotherapy as a process may involve few or all of the following:
• Understanding & Reframing the area of concern.
• Relaxation and deep induction(deeply engaged in the words or images presented by a hypnotherapist)
• Responding (complying with a hypnotherapist’s suggestions)
• Feeding suggestions
• Returning to usual awareness
• Reflecting on the experience

What about the idea that Hypnosis can weaken the mind?

Hypnosis does NOT weaken the mind. On the contrary, it helps people use more of their mind’s potential. It helps people access their inner strength. The subconscious mind is protective. Hypnotized people will accept suggestions that are acceptable, and reject suggestions that are not acceptable. Suggestions must be worded in a form and language that the patient’s subconscious can understand.

What role does the Subconscious Mind play?

The Subconscious part of the mind, or the Inner Mind, controls all of our living functions that keep us alive, as well as all of our automatic behavior patterns. But, the Subconscious is not as easily Communicated with as is the Conscious Mind. Information is imprinted in the Subconscious essentially in three ways: through trauma, through repetition, and through the language of Hypnosis. Thus, Hypnosis is the quickest and most efficient way to impress the Subconscious and imprint changes in behaviors, attitudes, beliefs and feelings. The upshot is that making changes in long-standing, core habits (e.g., eating patterns, smoking, emotional reactivity, coping responses) often creates internal discomfort and stress. Old habits cling and typically resist efforts to change them. This can be because of Conscious conflict about changing, but it can also be the result of conflict between the Conscious and the Subconscious parts of the mind. That is, you consciously may want to change and may have decided to change, but the Subconscious does not know this. If it did, it would help you, but it often has no way of knowing that you consciously want to change. So, it continues to control the old behavioral habits and this creates and perpetuates inner conflict. Once the Subconscious is informed that you want to change, and once it knows that it is in your best interest to be helped to change, it has no choice but to help you change. Then, the two parts to the mind, Conscious and Subconscious, can work together in cooperation with little tension, upset, or stress. Remember, what you can conceive you can achieve, and the Subconscious has a tendency to accept what it imagines as real.

Why visit a hypnotherapist?

Quite simply, visit a hypnotherapist if there is anything in your life you wish to change. Whether you would like to start doing something you wish to do, or stop doing something that’s become a problem.

Are drugs used in hypnotherapy?
No, not at all.

Will this work for me?

Well, there is no way to know for sure, but that goes for other treatments and medications too. But you can rest assured that most people of normal intelligence are fully capable of taking part in this form of therapy. As long as you follow the simple instructions, be open and positive about the approach and process, you should become receptive to the suggestions and obtain improvement. As with any treatment method, there is no magic bullet, nothing in this world works for 100% of those who use it, but that being said, this method has a very high success rate. And since it is completely safe, there is no worry about its effects. At the very least, it will do no harm, at minimum, you will find better sleep and be more relaxed in general, and for most, you will see improvement in your condition, and in many cases for many applications, elimination of symptoms.
Most people realise that this is going to help them, it is nothing scary at all, they have complete control at all times, and we have many, many people who tell us they love their sessions and look forward to the peace and well-being they provide.

I’ve tried countless diets, but still can’t lose weight or keep it off. Can hypnotherapy help me?

Hypnotherapy for weight control is geared towards finding the reason why a person is repeatedly feeling the need to overeat – whether it be ‘comfort’ eating, or eating due to stress. Analytical hypnotherapy is by far the best method used here for this.
The other method that can be used for this is suggestion therapy. However, this is really only used for those times when a person is either on a diet, or about to embark on a diet and feels the need to treat themselves to an enjoyable visualisation session.

I’ve tried giving up smoking countless times before, why is hypnotherapy different?

Smoking serves a need to the smoker, a basic necessity which is actually laid down very early in their life: the need for ‘oral satisfaction’. It is something that must be met.
When the smoker tries to stop smoking by willpower alone, the need is no longer met, and the person can feel anxious, restless, and irritable. Usually the need reinforces itself, and the smoking starts all over again. Curiously, it is this same need which can sometimes cause ex-smokers to put on weight.
Hypnotherapy aims to ‘reprogram’ that need, and channel its energies into feeling pride and pleasure in stopping the smoking habit. It also aims to counter the possibility of ‘symptom substitution’, which can lead to overeating, for example.

Is there any age limit?

Anyone over the age of 18 years can choose to see a therapist. If you are a minor you may need the permission of a parent or guardian and you should talk to your therapist about this. If you are a parent or guardian seeking a hypnotherapist for a child or young person it is best to talk to the individual therapist. There is no upper age limit.

How many sessions of hypnotherapy will I need?

This will depend upon your individual circumstances. This is something that you will discuss with your therapist when you first meet and many therapists will agree a set number of sessions with you which they will review with you. Depending on the issues you want to address hypnotherapy can often be a relatively short process.

Will I be unconscious when in hypnotherapy?

No. No loss of consciousness is involved. Individuals will be perfectly aware of their surroundings, including sounds, movements and smells and will be hyper-sensitive to touch. Some individuals will achieve a deeper level of trance than others. However, the results remain the same.

What happens if I can’t relax?

Your therapist is skilled at helping people to relax and there is no ‘right’ or ‘wrong’ way for you to behave. Try not to worry about things like this as this may make you feel less relaxed. This is something you will be led into gently – and your therapist will be aware of your apprehensions.

What happens if I fall asleep or don’t wake up?

The state of relaxation that you enter is not the same as sleeping – but some people do fall asleep and this is nothing to worry about. You will be in a secure environment and your therapist will be aware of this possibility. Your therapist will also explain about the method that they will use to ensure you are fully aware and ready to get on with your usual activities after the session.

Will I be aware of what is going on?

Yes, you will. You will hear everything that is said (in fact, for analytical therapy, you will be talking yourself!).

How soon can I expect results?

This varies from person to person, some individuals notice better sleep and relaxation the very first time they listen, others notice this comes later. Simply work with the listening schedule if your chosen programme has one. Don’t try to do anything, but simply listen. Impatience is your greatest enemy. Take away the importance of your presenting problem and work with the programme, enjoy it and acknowledge the fact you are doing something different to help you feel better, and to reduce or eliminate the condition.

Is it confidential?

Yes it is important that you can feel that you can talk about things in complete confidence. Your therapist will not talk about you with others – the only time they might breach confidentiality is if by keeping a confidence it could cause significant harm to you, your therapist or another person – for example if your life is at risk. They will explain about this when you first meet.
Hypnotherapists generally have a Supervisor and it is very likely that they will talk about your case (without disclosing your identity). This is to ensure they offer you the best possible service – a similar process to a doctor discussing your medical notes with a specialist.

Are There Any Dangers in Using Hypnotherapy?
Hypnosis is a state of relaxation, it can be very deep much like the state you experience just before you fall asleep at night time or lighter, such as when you travel on a familiar journey and slip into “auto pilot” such that you might have even forgotten elements of the journey once you reach your destination. During hypnosis, it is much easier for the brain to listen to and process information it is given because the conscious mind (which is the logical voice in your head that is always filtering information that comes in) is less active. It’s a little like occupying the gate keeper (the conscious mind) at a castle entrance so that traffic (or in this instance suggestions for change or improvement) can go in and out more freely. Hypnotherapy for Children Hypnotherapy for children is safe for them because it is a relaxed state that they already utilise when learning, watching television or doing something creative. When our practitioners use hypnosis with children or teenagers under 16 years, they will always ask for your written permission to do so beforehand and will fully explain how hypnosis works and why they think it would be useful for your child. Some children will be able to experience a deep, eyes closed relaxing trance. Others will be more suited to an awakened trance in which the practitioner might use metaphors or stories with hidden suggestions for change and improvement that their unconscious will understand whilst their conscious mind is entertained by the story. Sometimes an awakened trance can be created whilst doing games, colouring or other activities. Our Hypnotherapists are trained to notice the subtle shifts in your child’s levels of awareness so that they can begin to implant suggestions for change or improvement as soon as they see that an awakened trance is achieved. Your child will never be out of control, switch off or in a coma type state. There conscious mind will always be there in the background so that if anything is said which is out of alignment, or if for instance the fire alarm went off, they would be fully aware of it and wake up. The only real side effect is that your child may fall asleep! They will then wake up when they are ready to or can be gently woken by a familiar face.

How is hypnotherapy different from traditional methods?

The core difference between hypnotherapy and other methods is depth and speed. Using hypnotherapy techniques like relaxation, guided imagery, and the trance state, therapists are able to access the subconscious more quickly than traditional methods. Traditional methods may take weeks, months, or years to uncover the subconscious reasons behind issues that are manifesting in clients. With hypnotherapy, these reasons can be found in as little as one session.

Why does hypnotherapy work so well?

The subconscious mind is where we store everything that has ever happened in our lives. Therefore, it is much more efficient to do therapy while in the subconscious state, using hypnotherapy to access these moments in our lives that have impacted us. This results in greater awareness around one’s issues. With this awareness comes the ability to recognize the cause of behaviours that one desires to change.

Have any major psychologists contributed to the field of hypnotherapy?

Our particular modality of hypnotherapy, Heart-Centered Hypnotherapy, is built on the findings of psychotherapists over the last century. Their findings form the core of our approach to hypnotherapy.
Below are the list of primary psychoanalysts and what we have incorporated into our program:
• The psychosocial stages of ego development (Erikson, Mahler, Vaillant).
• The psychobiology of state-dependent “body memories” (Rossi, Cheek, Lowen).
• The development of ego states (Hartmann, Assigioli, Berne, Kohut, Watkins).
• The incorporation of Gestalt techniques (Fritz Perls).
• The intrapsychic interaction of complexes, shadow and persona (Jung).
• The influences of pre- and perinatal imprinted trauma (Grof, Janov, Emerson).
• The imperative for “ego strengthening” and “ego surrender” (Fromm, Welwood).
• The neuropsychology of trauma and PTSD (Schore, van der Kolk, Porges).
• The transpersonal realms of experience (Jung, Maslow, Assigioli, Grof, Goleman).
• The wisdom of the body (Levine, van der Kolk, Rothschild).

Why should a licensed therapist receive hypnotherapy training?

For professional therapists, there are many benefits to hypnotherapy training. Here are the ones our thousands of graduates most frequently cite. Hypnotherapy training has allowed them to:
• Start, or grow, a private practice
Hypnotherapy is incredibly effective, but also underutilized. This means you can quickly become THE expert in your area, attracting clients and gaining referrals.
• Access the subconscious of their clients
Hypnotherapy works by accessing the subconscious mind, taking the client to the source of their issues by obtaining valuable information that can help promote relaxation, comfort, and healing
• Treat clients, not just talk to them
With hypnotherapy, you can stop simply talking to people, peeling away layers one hour at a time. Hypnotherapy gives you the gift of treating people on their deeper subconscious level, with often immediate behavioral changes.
• Undergo personal transformation
With our program, not only will you obtain an astoundingly valuable skill set, but the training will change you personally, as well. Your self awareness will grow by the minute as you learn to heal others.
• Treat more issues, more easily
Hypnotherapy has been proven to be the most effective and efficient path to creating lasting change from virtually all issues, including trauma, PTSD, anxiety, addictions, weight issues, depression, shock, phobias, and many more.
• Receive continuing education hours
To maintain their licensure, most professional therapists need to accumulate continuing education hours. Our hypnotherapy training program is approved by different boards and associations. Please check out the list at In Class Continuing Education.

Who offers hypnotherapy training?

There generally three categories of professionals that offer hypnotherapy training. These include:
1. Solo hypnotherapists. These are practicing therapists who train other therapists part-time. There are a lot of these.
2. Professional medical institutes. These are Integrative Medicine departments such as The Cleveland Clinic.
3. Professional institutes and organizations (like The Wellness Institute). These are organizations that are focused solely on hypnotherapy and may have decades of experience training the next generation of hypnotherapists.
4. Colleges. Because hypnotherapy has been considered a legitimate treatment since the 1950s and there is an abundance of information proving its efficacy, many colleges have started offering Hypnotherapy 101 classes as secondary or post-secondary education.

How do I find a competent instructor or a good program?

In general, we do not recommend solo instructors. They lack the teaching experience or the network that comes with a college or a professional institute.
If you want legitimate training, stick with professional institutes, integrative medical facilities and colleges. You should be looking for the following things:
• Instructor experience. You want an instructor that has real, hands-on experience with hypnotherapy. Sometimes instructors are more well-versed in other forms of therapy, rather than focusing on the hypnotherapy modality.
• Hands-on teaching methods. If your education doesn’t incorporate hands-on instruction (using only lecture), then it’s going to be hamstringed. This is the type of work that needs hands-on, didactic learning.
• Valid for continuing education. One of the easiest tests of legitimacy is if the course is valid for credit for continuing education with professional licensures for workers in the mental health fields.
• Results in certification. Many health insurance providers will only provide insurance reimbursements for certified practitioners.
EKAA is one of them in the world. EKAA (CHII) is a non-profit organization with the mandate to provide vocational training for the welfare of society and which has positioned itself as a premier institute delivering quality and consistent education in the area of Integrated Clinical Hypnotherapy in India. It is the first and the only professional Institute in India to conduct and offer certification courses in INTEGRATED CLINICAL HYPNOTHERAPY thereby integrating Clinical Hypnotherapy with other modalities of healing.
